The Intercom Trust is looking for a Sessional Lead Worker (paid) to work on alternate Saturdays from 10.45am – 14.30pm. The Rainbow Café is a community LGBT coffee event held in a safe supported environment. They are looking for welcoming people who can help to create a good, friendly atmosphere, and make tea and coffee. Each session is staffed by a Sessional Lead Worker and volunteers. For further information: 01392 678744 or email: [email protected] A big thank you to everyone that came along to this months meeting. We know it's not easy dragging yourself out of bed on these cold winter Sunday mornings, so we really appreciate everyone that is able to come along to support the group. It was lovely to sit around having such great chats today and so good seeing friendships growing and developing. There was some talk today about the kinds of things/events that the group could consider in the future (some fab suggestions). If you have any ideas or know of anything going on that you would like to share with group, then please do let us know.
What fantastic news and what an incredible majority of votes from the MP's. I see this as the final step in the emancipation of gay people. When I was born gay relationships were illegal and could end with a long custodial sentence. How the world has moved on. I suppose it will take another generation or two before there will be total acceptance, but what wonderful progress. I am proud to be gay and if I was allowed a second chance on this earth I would want to come back as a gay man! |
